We cannot believe that the girls first year here is come and gone. They have changed so much and so have we.. for that matter. I am a few pounds heavier, have many more gray hairs and wrinkles. But physical changes aside, we have grown as parents and as people. For me, I have to say I am a bit less anxious as the girls are less dependent of me for language and other things. The girls are great, but they are intense and with that brings mega energy needed most of the time. (New Chapter vitamins, B vitamins and Natural Orange Juice from Copps saved me from getting sick this year). Good thing summer is here and the sun is out more. I am still trying to wrap up my year at KMS. This year I tried applying to a job in Sun Prairie as principal but did not get it. I even thought I had a good chance, since I had been offered an internship here as principal, but did not even make the first round. I was also disappointed when I applied to be ESL coordinator at my present district, Middleton, and was passed over for that. That was a more difficult one to take, since I was offered the same position in Green Bay and was a finalist in Madison... Oh well, I guess this is not what God wants for me, so I am making other plans.
I guess the first thing we did to kick off the summer, was the Race for the Cure. Milena really wanted to run it and I took Yesica along (she did not want to do tumbling that morning and so she chose to come walk with me). There were about 14,000 people. By the time everyone went through and we started the fun walk, Milena was done with her race. She actually came in 7th, for 18 and under, and that is without training. She hates to exercise but loves to compete. Could someone explain to her that training is necessary. Tell that to a 14 year old!
I guess that was not the first thing because I forgot to say we went to Crab Lake with the cousins. As always a lot of work and a good time! That will be the next entry.

Good for you -- Race for the Cure is a good cause, and what a great way for kids to give back. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI'M FINALLY CAUGHT UP!!! I read ALL of the 2011 entries today...I figure I might as well admit up front that I'd completely slacked off in reading it.
ReplyDeleteNo pressure, Mercedes, but you're way behind now!! ;)
Can't wait for the next entry...I think I changed things so that I'll actually get notifications of postings now -- didn't before. (At least that's my excuse.)
Love,
Laura
