So doing this blog is also a way of procrastinating doing other important things.. but also the fact that I have gotten e-mails from people saying they are tired of looking at the same posts over and over.
I finally talked to one of the few friends I have left last week (I think I might still have three), and was commenting on my 'disapperance' for a while. I explained that my job and the girls had gotten a bit more complicated, and I needed to take control over some things. But now I was trying to emerge.
I was not kidding about that, except my emerging feels like a turtle. I have to put my head in when things get tough and ignore the outside world for a bit, then come out again.
Anyway, the rest of the summer was great. I did many field trips with the girls and then talked about them to see what they had learned. These trips included: Circus World, Devil's Lake, International Crane Foundation (I have been a member for the last three years and love going there), Chicago Museum Of Science and Industry (At some point of the trip I thought I was at the Field Museum, I started realizing I was in a different place when I could not find the dinosaur), The Geology Museum at UW Madison, Little Americka with my friend Lisa, Colombian Independence Day in Middleton, Milwaukee County Zoo, Sun Prairie's Corn Festival, visiting with our friend Father Gus Copps in Monona and the visit of 5 girls from Ohio who stayed with our girls at La Casita and have been adopted by a Lutheran pastor and his wife in Ohio.
Attached some of the many pictures we have. We continue to look for more things to expose the girls to. Thanks to Bam for helping us with that as well by taking the girls to Mke. and taking them to the Art Museum and plays this weekend.

Just looking at these pictures makes me tired. I can't believe we did all these things! There are so many things to do in this great state and surrounding, I don't think we will ever run out of things to do.
Dear Alex and Mercedes,
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos -- you must have had a blast this summer! So good to see the girls growing and thriving. Glad to see photos of you two as well; parenthood looks good on you both.
Love, Margaret and Tom
