Most of yesterday and probably most of today will be spent at the pool.
This is a beautiful location up in elevation. There is a golf course, a small lake, equestrian facilities, and much more. It will be nice to have a few days without dishes and laundry. For a country club this is very reasonably priced.
Because the girls want to spend all their time in the pool, they are getting better at swimming. As you might notice, the girls are required to wear swim caps. This is annoying at times but it makes it harder to cheat at Marco Polo with a cap over their eyes. And because we have been told we can relax a bit about interactions with others, the girls are able to make some friends here. It seems to be a good time for all of us.
I'm expected in the pool soon so I can't stay online long.
We love the pictures! I'll find a way to make them larger and clearer for my bad eyes. I can hear the calls: Marco...Polo...Marco.....polo endlessly... without eyes.
ReplyDeleteI did a lttle map work today inspired by the fact that the Sunday NYTimes had a major article on Cartagena, Colunbia about which, as you probably know, Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote (especially in "Love in the Time of Cholera"). He maintains a house there and lives there part of the year. It sounds like a haunting scruffy beautiful town that is a little far from you to manage a visit. Maybe some other time when the girls are a little bit older and more able to take in Marqez themes. I'll keep the article for you.
I also found Abejorral on Rand McNally. It isn't very far from Medellin as the crow flies, but it looks pretty mountainous.
Thanks for keeping us with you in the loop. It takes lots of time to do so, but is much appreciated. I guess you will enjoy this diary of your time as well. My love, Mom/Sis/Wom/Bom
What a beautiful family! You all look alike- honestly! The setting is also wonderful- so glad you are dish and laundry free for awhile.
ReplyDeleteA late happy 12th birthday to Mirellen on April 28th. Sounds like you had a very nice celebration.
Love,
Telia, Sam, and Sophie

ReplyDeleteHello from the Wisconsin Association of Student Council State Convention in Titletown. Haven't seen Mr. Favre around unfortunately! No purple either, except for this Viking jersey - #4 on my back!
ReplyDeleteNice to see the family photos. How exciting. You all look at peace. I am looking forward to the day when I can interact with the kids. See you soon!

I have been following your blog all along. You and Alex are very brave and the girls are really lucky to have you. I can't imagine starting with four all at once. The blog will be a wonderful history to look back on. Love the pictures and I wish for you a speedy process.
