Today at LLanogrande Country Club

We have been at this country club since Saturday noon. The weather had been pretty good, but today it just poured and was much colder. Not only that, but it is a cleaning day so the only employees are the ones that are cleaning and organizing around here. We are the only guests. We did not realize this when we booked the place. The morning was spent on the little beach here, it's just sand in front of a man made lake. Part of the sand is also a beach volleyball area. One of the girls asked me if the beach was like this, I said 'no' it's a lot bigger. The girls have never seen a beach or the ocean. Alex had walked to a nearby strip mall to get some money and I was with the girls for part of the morning on the little beach. There they mostly collected snails and shells etc. They were happy just getting dirty. After that we had a family meeting. We have had a few of these and the girls are getting used to it. We had lunch and then we had been given permission to spend about one hour in the pool. We were there only 45 minutes because it started to rain. The girls watched some TV and then we went and taught them 'Go Fish' and Uno. (We sat outside by the pool tables. They had to wear jackets and we ordered hot drinks) Then they did a little exercise in the Gym and it was back to the room to talk to Uncle Juan. After a long Skype conversation we ordered a meal one episode of Phineas and Ferb (their favorite cartoon) and to bed. They went to bed a little later today because we talked to Juan for a long time. This time it was mostly Yesica who was part of the conversation as well as Milena. With our camera is hard to talk to all the girls at the same time. The girls were acting silly with Juan and then they told me he was 'bonito'. What was funny was that they told Juan to tell his girlfriend Darcy " Digale que es una mona bonita". Even though in PR Spanish 'mona' also means cute the way they say it makes it sound as if they are saying she is a 'cute monkey'. Here is some more Medellin/Colombian Spanish:

Pitillo-straw
Que pesar-What a shame!
Que pecado-That's too bad (if the girls see a disabled person on the street they might say this)
piquitos-kisses
tinto-Black coffee (best coffee I have ever tasted, I might add)
aromatico-tea made with boiled fruit--usually left over from breakfast
milo-hot chocolate with milk
Espectacular-This is a phrase that it's said a lot for something wonderful, it is said regularly.
Con Mucho Gusto-You're welcome-literally translated 'with much pleasure'
Que esten bien-Hope you're good--people say this here when they are leaving--in the U.S it may be comparable to 'take it easy'.
Listo-OK--The girls kept saying that I said "K" a lot, when I was saying OK, I try to say 'Listo' instead, but it's not natural for me.
Que tumbada!-How disappointing..--literally translated as 'what a fall', today when Alex was explaining a game and he was explaining certain parts Mirellen said this, as to say--that doesn't seem fair

I'll have to keep collecting these if I can.. I know for those of you who speak Spanish this is fascinating.
